How To Draw Realistically With Colored Pencils

Choosing the correct brand of colored pencils for your drawings can sometimes be overwhelming. Recently, I was sent a set of Ariana's Art Vivid Colour colored pencils to review. These pencils are new to the already flooded market place, but have rapidly become very popular. The Good, The Bad, and Who Will Get The Most

These pencils are described as "Creative person Quality" with soft cores. In the description, they claim that the cores are strong enough to withstand breakage, a mutual trouble experienced with Prismacolor colored pencils.

The Example

The Colors

The darkest blue is non very night and the darkest chocolate-brown isn't either. Pigmentation and Binder

Normally, I would use a combination of nighttime blue and nighttime brown to produce a natural black in a colored pencil drawing. Step by Step

The cartoon is first drawn on Bristol paper (Vellum surface) with an HB pencil. And then a series of warm and cool grays are applied. The value is adapted by layering dark blues, browns, and black. Color is slightly adapted with an application of yellow-greenish.

Piece of work continues downwards the trunk of the tin can with applications of grayness. White is used to burnish the colour, simply heavy pressure is required. Ruby is applied and the value is adjusted with brownish and white.

The middle portion of the can is side by side addressed, again with applications of warm and cool gray. Subtle reflections of red are hands achieved with these pencils.
